The “extended photo” in this piece evolved from a small portion of a wall mural in the Bowery District, New York. The mural was originally painted in 1982 by Keith Haring then recreated in 2008 for his 50^th birthday. Drawn in by its strong color, I shot this photo on a visit to New York in June 2008.
